Nelson Bay, Port Stephens
March 29th, 2016. #thankfulinoz
We had 3 things in our itinerary for our second day of the 7-days, 1000+ km road trip: dolphin watching cruise at Port Stephens, sand boarding at Nelson Bay, and sunset watching at Nelson Head Lighthouse. We woke up quite early (around 6 a.m.) to catch the morning cruise. Port Stephens was really beautiful that morning.

The tranquility of Port Stephens Pier in the morning.

And, our cruise departed.

The first dolphins after sailing for 30 minutes!

The cute dolphins loved to swim alongside our cruise!
After having a simple lunch near the piers, we drove off to Nelson Bay for sand boarding. However, as we parked our car, the dark clouds came. To go, or not to go; the same dilemma just like our first day.
We made the right choice by deciding to go; we played for 45+ minutes before the rain came. Despite not being able to watch the sunset, it’s another day to be #thankfulinoz.

One more reason to be #thankfulinoz: you can burn calories by climbing up the sand hill.

p.s. when going sand boarding, don’t forget to bring a bag to store all your valuables!
On our third day, we went to Port Macquarie where we visited the (cute) Koala Hospital, Roto House Museum, Cassegrain Winery, and Port Macquarie Town Beach.
